Lake Ray Roberts is a good largemouth bass fishing lake. March through October are the best months to fish for bass on Lake Ray Roberts. You can catch them in the colder water months but the bites tend to be few and far between always having the chance for a fish of a lifetime. Lake Ray Roberts usually warms up a few weeks later than the lakes in East Texas so our spring fishing gets good a few weeks later. The spawn is usually from mid March to mid May and a lot of big fish are caught. The early spring fishing is mostly done in the northern creeks that warm up sooner than the rest of the lake. May through September fishing on the main lake is good around the grass beds in Lake Ray Roberts. May, June and July is also the time to fish deep water structure for big fish. This type fishing will not produce a lot of bites but the fish will be big. October and November will have some fish caught in the back of the creeks and on the main lake as they feed up for the winter. In the Winter months, December, January and February some big largemouths are caught while we are fishing for white bass on deep main lake structure.
